An important component of Padres' baseball is a
long-standing commitment
to community philanthropy. In 1995, owner John
Moores established The
Padres Foundation, the organization's charitable
arm. The Foundation
continues to meet the needs of children with
specific emphases on
education, recreation and health.
The funds received from all Fan Pack donations
directly benefit the
Padres Scholars Program (education), the Little
Padres Parks Program
(recreation), and a variety of children's health,
fitness and nutrition
initiatives.
The Padres Foundation falls under the umbrella of
The San Diego
Foundation, a not-for-profit organization.
